I was taught not to dodge animals for this very reason. Dodge an animal and flip your car, you're fcked, maybe even dead. Don't dodge the animal and need a new bumper, well it's just the bumper, not the whole vehicle or your life. A raccoon would most likely not hurt a TB anyways, hit one in the Mustang with no damage inflicted.
Nah got off in that muddy yard while trying to steer sharply out of it and one of the wheels bit down good in the mud making a pivot point. Just my thought. But I'd bet his links are bad too but not what caused the flip.
Avoid the critter and roll your ride or hit the critter with minimum damage and bring home food for the barbecue. No brainier, barbecue coon for dinner.
