Yeah, this does not inspire any confidence in GM's EVs. Hell, they couldn't even get it out of park to get it towed.
I also wonder about people getting stranded by pushing the range limit. What are they going to do ? call a friend and ask him to bring you a can of "juice" ?Although they were able to get it moving again with a reboot by disconnecting the battery, what about Joe Average that can't even change a light bulb? They wouldn't know how to disconnect a battery or even know to do this.
And OnStar was also of absolutely no help except to call a tow truck.

I guess they could bring them a portable generator and a sleeping bag.....
Which kinda goes against the whole thing about going electric.I also wonder about people getting stranded by pushing the range limit. What are they going to do ? call a friend and ask him to bring you a can of "juice" ?

You might just have provided a glimpse into the future....people driving mandated EVs towing fuel burning generators...BRILLIANT !
New vehicles only. Existing ICE vehicles can still be driven / sold. Although in 13 years, there may not be many still on the road (and gasoline will probably not be on every street corner, and more expensive to boot (the oil companies will claim that the cost of drilling / refining is greater, with fewer vehicles demanding it).NY and Cal. want gas vehicle sales gone by 2035....
Same as roadside service today -- but instead of bringing gasoline, they bring something that can quick charge and give 10-50 miles of range (the company could charge by the watt, by the hour, or even a mix of both. Have no fear -- the market will figure out how to profit.I also wonder about people getting stranded by pushing the range limit. I would laugh my @ss off to see this in practice...You might just have provided a glimpse into the future....people driving mandated EVs towing fuel burning generators...BRILLIANT !
Tesla actually looked at this years ago and quickly dumped the idea. Issues with power demands, consistency between packs, servicing and replacing them as well as the space required to house all those packs killed it. Read an article about it not long ago.If battery packs ever get standardized, you could one day see them swapped out at a 'refueling station'... 10-15min and you're back on the road.
A fool and his money . . .Just read that a single tail light for this thing costs just over 3,000 US to replace.
Oh see now your just showing off.. you Snob! LOLAnother reason to be glad to be a gm360 owner.
I find it amusing to point out the vehicles that the custom wheels cost more than my TB is worth. Now I can point out vehicles that one tail light also costs more than my whole TB is worth
I am also glad that the one time when I needed to replace a tail light it cost $20 at the PYP.
