Have a 2003 Trailblazer. When I switched to AWD and 4wd truck began to buck/hop and then stalls. Any ideas?

That doesn't account for the stalling.
Where is your idle speed at? Should be around 600 RPM.

what gear are you in when you put your selector on? If it is still doing it while you are in park, put your vehicle into neutral and then try.
If it continues go get your diff checked, cuz you might be binding

Well the Original Poster has not returned since joining and posting the question. However, I have a suspicion it may another case of someone swapping either front or rear differential and failing to match gear ratios. Not sure about the stalling thing but I have come across a handful of instances where the front/rear gear ratios were not matched. Tends to stop a truck in its tracks.
